from: Step down from work and step up to life

When one reached the retirement age, one does not deny the fact that you reaches the age of the usual muscle spasms and cramps. Then, what is the single best thing people of all ages can do to ensure a long, happy, healthy life? Exercise.

If you start treating your body as an investment, you get to have a plenty of exercise specially during retirement living.

According to research, a 30 minute walk per day, five days a week, adds one year onto your life. The more vigorous, aerobic activities, like running or lap swimming, for just and hour, four times a week, adds up to 3 or 4 years to your life.

One of the stark realizations about reaching retirement is the fact we are aging. That point can hit home rather firmly, but you can use your newfound spare time to add years to your life. And it need not be jogging ten blocks twice a day. Here are some of the more enjoyable, low impact, ways for very effective exercise.

Golf Walking. Whether you ought to play or just an audience. Golf is a grame intended to be walk. Try to get rid or using golf cars or services to do the travel for you. Stretch those leg muscles and get fit!

Gardening. Who says that gardening is only for women? Gardening is intended for all. Not only you have those muscles stretch but also will gives you the peace and relaxation you just need to cope up with stress in life.

Gym resistance training. Gym resistance training increases the muscles strength by pitting muscles against weight. There are gym exercise intended for “not so young” ages and there are gym instructors available to assist.

Yoga. Yoga has been proven to do great benefits to all ages. Not only does it gives you the physical strength but also mental and spiritual.

Pilates and Tai chi. Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century. As of 2005 there are 11 million people who practice the discipline regularly and 14,000 instructors in the United States. Meanwhile, Tai-chi is a series of bodily movement to help achieve more grace. Both aims to create a fusion of mind and body, so that without thinking about it the body will move with economy, grace, and balance.

Swimming. Swimming helps build more resistance and develop arm and leg muscles. Moreover, it lets you enjoy the cold water specially when it is summer.

Dance classes. There is nothing more enjoyable than swinging with the latest beat of music available. Not only it livens the spirit, but makes you also socialized with new people and talk aboout your interests.

Gem fossicking and crocheting. If you are a fan of adventures, you might try the new trend of traesure hunting. The said adventure is gem fossicking. If you have the taste of a peaceful leaiure activity try crocheting your new blanket for your loved ones.

If you want to go full steam ahead, here are some increased physical activity things you can add cycling Jogging Wall climbing Team sports Kayaking/rafting and Bush walking Aerobics to the list.

But whatever you do, do something. With more and more people slowing down activity after retirement, more are dying sooner. There really is an activity to suit everyone, and it will make you feel so much better.

Too many here to list, study up on sports you might want to play, what classes are in your local area and do drink plenty of water along the way. Consult a doctor first, always warm up and stretch then cool down and stretch.
